AJILALA OSO FESTIVAL

The Ajilala Ọṣọ Festival is held annually in Ede and organized by the Ede Descendants Union.

Cultural Celebrations & Artistic Features

The festival is a grand showcase of Yoruba culture, featuring:

  • Parades in aso òfì and adìrẹ traditional attire
  • Live performances of talking drums, dances, and drumming troupes
  • Traditional music rendition in Ede language by Martins Odewole and his music band gave life to the event.
  • Exhibitions of local crafts, pottery, traditional foods, and indigenous fashion fairs


The 2025 anthem, “Aji La’la Oso”, was composed by local artists. This special anthem features a collective of well-known artists from Ede, including Babarinde Martins Odewole (motiroluwa), Adejoke Olorin, Temmy C Singer, Alhaji Sule Alade (e maa fine), Alhaji Buhari Sulaimon (Epo akara), Wande Akinlade, Adewale Adegbite (Araka), Segun Segadex, and Prince Adewale Laoye, who also serves as the Chairman of this year’s festival.

More than just entertainment, the anthem serves as both a prayer and a fervent call to unity. It includes special prayers for the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa I, seeking long life, wisdom, and continued leadership for the traditional ruler.

The anthem also pays homage to all sons and daughters of Ede, both at home and abroad, inviting them to embrace their heritage with pride and to join hands in collectively building a stronger future for Edeland.


The 2025 edition drew over 10,000 attendees, including dignitaries and cultural stakeholders. It received praise from the Timi of Ede and Osun State government for contributing to culture and tourism, heritage preservation, and economic development.
